It looks like the borderless design trend is here to stay as design renders of the upcoming Meizu MX5 have been leaked online revealing a bezel-less display.
Looking at the renders, the display of the MX5 have absolutely no side bezels with the image on-screen stretching out all the way until the edges of the device. The top and bottom bezels also look very narrow and simplified with only the front-facing camera, earpiece, and Meizu’s signature circle Home key in front. The appearance of the circle Home key reveals that MX5 may not feature a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button but instead may be found on the back of the device similar to the Huawei Mate 7.
The corners of the device also look a lot more rounded giving the device a softer look. According to previous reports, the MX5 will feature a metal body, a rear camera with infrared focus, a MediaTek MT6795 octa-core processor, and, as previously mentioned, support for fingerprint identification. The rest of the device’s specifications are still unknown and the ones that have already been revealed may still change in time.
Lastly, the design shown in the renders may still not be the device’s final design and the actual device may end up being largely different from them but the renders are a good indication as to what Meizu might be planning with their next flagship device.
