With the official launch event of the Oppo R7 and R7 Plus happening in a week or two, Oppo has decided to release some of the official press images of their new flagship smartphones showing the devices’ final designs. Information on both devices have leaked out occasionally over the past few weeks so we’ve already found a lot about these new devices but this will be the first time we get an official look at what the device’s will actually look like.
The Oppo R7 will feature a 5-inch display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It will feature capacitive touch home and navigation buttons below the display and a light sensor, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and the device’s ear piece above it.
The rear of the device will feature a 20.7-megapixel rear coupled with an LED flash on the upper-left of the rear panel. On the inside, the R7 will feature a 1.7GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 2,320mAh battery.
Reports have noted that the Oppo R7 will be priced at 2,999 Yuan.
On the other hand, the Oppo R7 Plus features a larger 5.9-inch screen with a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Differentiating itself from its smaller brother, the R7 Plus features extremely narrow side bezels and has foregone the capacitive touch home and navigation keys in exchange for on-screen keys.
The rear camera is also different on the R7 Plus which is now placed in the middle of the rear panel with a dual LED flash and IR sensor. A fingerprint sensor has also been placed below the rear camera, a feature that’s been omitted from the smaller R7. On the inside, the R7 Plus is powered by a 1.9GHz MediaTek MT6795M octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage.
Both devices feature full-metal bodies as well as Oppo’s exclusive VOOC rapid charging technology. Both will also run Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with the company’s Color OS on top of it. The Oppo R7 and R7 Plus will be officially revealed and launched in a few weeks during Oppo’s launch event in China.
