OUKITEL Rolling Out Android 5.1 Lollipop to the U8 Soon

OUKITEL has announced on their website that U8 users will be getting the update for Android 5.1 Lollipop very soon. The company also detailed five new features the update will be bringing to the U8.

oukitel-u8-android51-lollipop-update-features-01One of these new features is the Quick Settings drop down panel which lets users access their WiFi, Bluetooth, and other settings even from the device’s Lock Screen. Users can also browse and choose the wireless network or Bluetooth profile they want, share files using HotKnot, and choose audio profiles, straight from the drop down panel.

Other new features that the Android 5.1 update will bring will include Notification Priority Settings, updated dual SIM standby support, new device and anti-theft security features which prevent thieves from performing a factory-reset without your password, and a new data protection feature where you can lock specific files and hide them in your phone.

As a refresher, the OUKITEL U8 features a 5.5-inch IPS 720p display, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a MediaTek MT6735 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB, a 2850mAh battery, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel fonrt-facing camera.
