Elephone has finally entered the Indian market starting with the launch of its Elephone G7 smartphone. The company has launched the brand and device in partnership with Snapdeal and has priced the device at only Rs. 8,888.
The Elephone G7 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The G7 also features a 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592M octa-core CPU, a Mali-450 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 2650mAh battery. It’s equipped with a 13-megapixel f/2.0 aperture rear camera coupled with an LED flash, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, dual SIM support, a microSD slot, and is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat.
“India is a highly competitive market, so we bring our high quality and performance products with aggressive price, which is slight higher than net cost of the products. Elephone is directly cooperating with one of the largest marketplace in India – Snapdeal” said Elephone’s CEO, “We’re glad to cooperate with Snapdeal and willing to bring more good products to India like G9 and P4000.”
The Elephone G7 will be available in black, white, and gold, and, as previously mentioned, will be priced at Rs. 8,888. It will be available exclusively from Snapdeal. We’re not sure why Elephone chose the G7 as the first smartphone from its line-up to launch in India but if it becomes a success, the company’s other phones will definitely find their way into the new market.
Meanwhile, if you live outside of India, you can currently purchase Elephone G7 from Banggood for $139.
