<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The smartphone industry, for the last 2 years, have been booming with devices that offer extreme ‘bang for the buck’ phones. Xiaomi is one name that is synonymous with such devices, and Meizu is another growing company that is getting increasingly popular for the same reason. Today, we put the ‘phablet’ phones of these companies in comparison to one another, the Xiaomi Redmi Note, and the Meizu m2 note.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55264" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C.jpg?x10805" alt="TechTree_News_06_Inline_C" width="773" height="580" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C.jpg 773w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C-238x178.jpg 238w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C-640x480.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/TechTree_News_06_Inline_C-681x511.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 773px) 100vw, 773px" /></a> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>Build</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The curved polycarbonate on the Redmi note is similar to the one on the Meizu m2 note. What sets them apart is a bunch of different factors. With the Meizu m2 note, the different features are a physical home button and a non-removable back.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Redmi note, on the other hand, offers the same 5.5 inches screen and the standard notification LED sans the physical home button and with the 3 capacitive home, back and menu buttons instead.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">While both phones are good in terms of design, the build philosophy of the Meizu note seems, and is copied. While the curved polycarbonate on the side looks much like an iPhone 5c, the front looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S6 with a similar-looking home button. Not that it’s bad, but it just doesn’t seem&#8230;. original.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Winner: Xiaomi Redmi Note wins this one by a appropriate margin.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>Display</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">While the Meizu m2 note sports a full HD IGZO touchscreen, the older Redmi note is still stuck with the 720p IPS LCD touchscreen. And while it isn’t a factor here since the Redmi note was released a year earlier, it still disappoints with the 720p display which gives a staggeringly low pixel density of 267 ppi while on the same screen size, the Meizu m2 note offers a rather impressive 403 ppi pixel density.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">WINNER: Meizu m2 note takes the obvious lead here. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>Hardware</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Both phones can be considered as performance powerhouses with each phone sporting a MediaTek octa-core processor of different variety. The Redmi Note houses a MediaTek MT6592 chipset which has four Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.4 GHz and four Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz each.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-review-on-gaming.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55267" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-review-on-gaming.jpg?x10805" alt="Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-review-on-gaming" width="730" height="405" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-review-on-gaming.jpg 730w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-review-on-gaming-300x166.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-review-on-gaming-640x355.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-review-on-gaming-681x378.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Meizu m2 Note, on the other hand, has a MT6753 chipset that sports eight cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.3 GHz each. Plus, it is a 64-bit chipset which are (arguably) better than its 32-bit counterparts. In either case, both phones come to draw with the chipset. The 2 GB RAM on the Meizu m2 Note is however better than the 1 GB RAM on the Redmi Note.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>Camera</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Both phones have a 13 MP back camera that can shoot images and videos at full HD resolution and a 5 MP front camera for selfies and video calls but both are head-to-head with each other on this one as there are nearly no differences in either except for a few features here and there on the Meizu m2 Note such as a dual LED flash.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55266" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0.jpg?x10805" alt="xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0" width="800" height="600" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0-560x420.jpg 560w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0-100x75.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0-180x135.jpg 180w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0-238x178.jpg 238w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0-640x480.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/xiaomi-redmi-note-handson-camera_0-681x511.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Meizu m2 Note:</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Xiaomi Redmi Note:</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Winner: Meizu m2 Note wins this round by a very narrow margin</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>Battery Life and Others:</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">There are many other features involved in Xiaomi Redmi Note and Meizu m2 note, but the ones worth mentioning is the newer 5.0 lollipop version of android involved in the Meizu m2 note, whereas the Xiaomi Redmi Note is still stuck with the older Kitkat version of android. However, the flyme OS of the m2 note has much more to learn whereas the MIUI on the Xiaomi Redmi Note is a very good OS, comparable and even better than the most popular OS skins out there such as HTC’s Sense UI.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Winner: Draw.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><b>The Verdict:</b></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Both the competitors have their own sets of pros and cons. But due to the fact that the Meizu m2 note is comparatively new, has new features and is priced nearly the same as Xiaomi Redmi Note, it wins the comparison. That being said, the Xiaomi Redmi Note is still a considerable phone. Buy any at a store, and you will walk out satisfied.</span></p>
