Pictures of Gionee’s upcoming S5.1 Pro smartphone, the successor of the Gionee S5.1, have been leaked online through Chinese social media site Weibo.
Looking at the pictures, the S5.1 Pro features a design that’s obviously based on the iPhone 6 which include the curved corners, curved edges, and glass panels that resemble the 2.5D arc glass found on the iPhone 6 and many other recent smartphones. The pictures also show the S5.1 Pro’s camera, which is said to feature a 13-megapixel sensor, as well as a single LED flash.
A picture showing CPU-Z running on the device reveal that the S5.1 Pro features an octa-core processor with eight Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.3GHz which could be the MediaTek MT6753 SoC as it also comes with the ARM Mali-T720 graphics chip.
The other specifications of the Gionee S5.1 Pro are rumored to include a 5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 2400mAh battery. It also is said to support dual SIM dual standby functionality as well as 4G LTE connectivity.
The device is said to come with Google’s Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed with Gionee’s own UI skin on top. As for its price and release date, the upcoming device is rumored to be priced at around $300 with a currently unknown release date.
