It isn’t just Huawei and Apple that are working on a smartphone with a pressure-sensitive display as ZTE also unveiled the ZTE Axon Lux Mini last July which also features a pressure-sensitive touch screen and today we have real-world photos of the upcoming device.
Looking at the photos, the ZTE Axon Lux Mini looks a lot like ZTE’s other Axon line smartphones with the grills on the top and bottom bezels and its rounded corners. The Lux Mini does have a little extra flair with a rear cover that features plastic molded to look like stitched leather.
The rear of the Axon Lux Mini also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as a single 13-megapixel camera coupled with a dual LED flash instead of the dual camera system found on the regular Axon Lux. The front-facing camera remains the same at 8-megapixels.
As for its other specifications, the Lux Mini features a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p Super AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 1.5GHz octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, support for expandable storage via microSD card, 4G LTE connectivity, dual SIM dual standby support, and Android 5.1 Lollipop.
It’s unusual that ZTE opted to use a pressure-sensitive display on its mid-range ZTE Axon Lux Mini instead of its higher-specced flagship Axon Lux or Axon Pro devices but we assume that the reason could be the delay in the available of the actual technology behind it as even Huawei and Apple’s devices with pressure-sensitive displays have yet to be released.
