Benchmarks of Meizu’s recently released Pro 5 flagship smartphone have been published online and have been compared to the benchmark scores of Samsung’s Galaxy S6 flagship smartphone.
The reason behind the comparison between the Pro 5 and the Galaxy S6 is because both devices feature very similar specifications. Both devices feature the new 14nm Exynos 7420 octa-core processor, a Mali-T760 MP8 graphics chip, and 3GB of RAM, among others.
The big difference between the two devices is the size and resolution of the display. The Meizu Pro 5 features a 5.7-inch full HD 1080p display while the Samsung Galaxy S6 is equipped with a 5.1-inch QuadHD 2K display.
As for the benchmark results, they include tests from AnTuTu, Geekbench 3, GFXBench 3, Androbench, Gamebench, and a temperature test. In the AnTuTu test, the Pro 5 scored 77,768 points which is 13% higher than the Galaxy S6’s score of 68,994.
In the Geekbench 3 CPU benchmark, the Pro 5 has an 11% performance lead. In the GFXBench 3 GPU test, the Pro 5 has a 40% lead over the Galaxy S6. In the Androbench storage performance, the Pro 5 scored only a little bit higher than the Galaxy S6. In the Gamebench game performance test, the Pro 5 scored 28% better than the Galaxy S6. And in the temperature test, the Meizu flagship was 1-3 degrees cooler than the Samsung flagship.
The benchmark results show how big of a difference the lower resolution screen of the Meizu Pro 5 made in the performance tests especially in the GPU graphics and gaming benchmarks.
