2.5D arc glass panels have become one of the most trending features on smartphone today with the top brands in the market implementing the design onto their flagship smartphones. So it’s not a surprise that Chinese smartphone manufacturer VKWORLD would want to keep up with the trend by using the technology on their upcoming flagship the VK700 Pro. But it looks like the company wants to take things one step further by upgrading the 2.5D glass panel to a 3D curved glass display.
Unlike the 2.5D design which has a flat surface that curves and tapers at the edges to create its visual effect, the 3D glass is curved from edge to edge which gets rid of any flat surfaces or corners on the display. According to the company, the 3D curved display makes it easier to grip the device as well as makes it more comfortable to slide your thumb on the display even until the edge.
Aside from its 3D curved glass panel, the VK700 Pro is reported to feature 5.5-inch IPS display, a MediaTek MT6582 1.3GHz quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3200mAh battery.
The price and availability of the VKWORLD VK700 Pro have yet to be announced but hopefully the price will be close to the $80 price tag of the original VK700.
