Cubot has revealed some of the special gestures their upcoming X16 flagship will feature to make the device more convenient to use.

This makes it easy for users to activate the display just to check the time or their notifications without having to lock the device again. To compliment this feature, the X16 is equipped with a light sensor and distance sensor which detects if the device is in a dark environment like a pocket or backpack and if the device is covered which disables the double-click function to prevent it from activating needlessly while the device is in a pocket, backpack, or similar situation.

Cubot also developed three other special features that utilizes the distance sensor of the X16 for taking pictures, listening to the radio, and browsing the device’s photo gallery. Swiping your hand or fingers above the distance sensor can activate certain functions like flipping to the next or previous picture or adjusting the frequency of the radio and more.
