We previously reported that ZUK would be holding a series of press conferences at several locations around the world to launch the international version of its first flagship smartphone, the Z1, and earlier this week the company held its first press conference in Dubai where it officially announced the launch of the Z1 in the Middle East.
ZUK will be collaborating with Comtel, one of the regions larger handset distributors, as well as Souq.com, one of the biggest e-commerce platforms in the Middle East, to bring the Z1 to customers in the region. The Lenovo-backed company also revealed that their next press conference will be held in Berlin on October 30 where the company will be launching the device in several European territories. Afterwards, the company plans to bring the device to the rest of Europe as well as Southeast Asia hopefully before the year ends.
The ZUK Z1 is the company’s first flagship device and features a Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz processor, 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display, and a 4100mAh battery. It’s also equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a USB Type-C port. The international version of the device which the company is currently launching runs on the latest version of Cyanogen OS.
The company is also already currently working on its next flagship, evidently called the Z2, which the company plans to release sometime early next year.
