Rugged smartphones are one of the few niche smartphone categories that have quite a good following and No.1 has been one of the few brands that have consistently come out with decent rugged smartphones in the past years. Today, the company announces another addition to its line of rugged smartphones called the X2i, which is an updated version of their X2 rugged smartphone which they released earlier this year.
The updated X2i primarily features more RAM and a newer operating system compared to its predecessor. It still comes in a rugged but relatively thin and lightweight design that measures only 14.7mm thin and weighs only 230 grams. The body of the X2i is IP68 rated meaning that it is waterproof, dustproof, scratchproof, and can withstand relatively high amounts of pressure. It also looks like it can withstand drops from up to a certain height with its rubberized frame.
The X2i, features a 5.5-inch HD 720p resolution display, a MediaTek MTK6735 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and 4G LTE connectivity. It’s also equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a large 3000mAh battery, and it will run Android 5.1 Lollipop.
No.1 did not announce a price or release date for the X2i but we expected to be priced lower than or around $200.
