Yesterday we reported that Xiaomi has been sending out invites for an upcoming Grand Finale themed event. The good news is that the event is now officially confirmed by Xiaomi and there is certainly going to be an event. There are wide speculations concerning this conference as we are still unsure whether its for the unveiling of Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone Mi 5 or Note 2 Pro. But according to analyst Pan Jiutang this event could lead to the unveiling of a new device, namely, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2.
Mi Pad 2 has kept the internet abuzz and surfaced in numerous news report and leaded images online. It was even spotted on the 3C Quality certification website a month back. So the guesses are good that curtains will be lifted from Mi Pad 2 on the November 24 event.
Moreover, the invitation is actually quite large in size, and this could be a very good hint that the event is for the launch of the Mi Pad 2.
Up till now, we have heard three possible launches on November 24. First possible candidate is Redmi Note 2 Pro which passed through TENAA recently (hence the chances are good!), second up is the Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship (low chances according to yesterday’s comment from analyst) and finally, the third candidate is the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 (quite likely since Pan Jiutang has time and again revealed that the tab will launch before 2015).
Mi Pad 2 is rumored to come with state of the art specifications, powered by an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 Quad core processor clocking 2.24 GHz coupled with 2 GB of RAM. This will be the first Xiaomi product that brings an Intel Atom Processor overboard. Mi Pad 2 will most likely run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box. There’s even speculations about the tab running on Microsoft’s Windows 10 platform, but we have no concrete proof for the same.
Stay tuned for the latest updates.
So, what do you think will be unveiled on November 24? Will it be the Redmi Note 2 Pro or the Mi Pad 2? Or could we see a double launch on 24th?
