The Cubot S600, the company’s first device to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, is scheduled to start shipping in two weeks according to an announcement by the company today. Additionally, the full specifications of the device were also detailed.
As previously mentioned, the S600 is Cubot’s first fingerprint sensor-equipped smartphone. We previously reported that the fingerprint sensor on the S600 features a Silead GSL6163MSB2 press fingerprint chip which supports 13Mbps SPI connect and a frame ratio of up to 80 frames/s. The company also revealed that it will feature the biggest fingerprint touch area so far in the market measuring 12mm.
As for the rest of its features, the S600 comes with a 5-inch HD 720p IPS display with a panel of 2.5D curved glass, a MediaTek MT6735A 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and dual SIM dual standby support. It’s also equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 2700mAh battery.
The Cubot S600 will be available in black, white and gold color variants and will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed.
