Yesterday, the much-anticipated budget smartphone from Xiaomi Redmi 3 went on sale and was sold out in a matter of seconds, which shows how much people were waiting for it. That being said Lenovo has launched a budget-oriented smartphone priced at 699 Yuan that goes by the name of Lemon 3 to take on Xiaomi’s Redmi 3. The name Lemon 3 might not turn out to be the official international name, as the phone looks like the successor to the budget Lenovo K3. But for now, let’s call it the Lemon 3, until the company announces the international name.
Lenovo has gone all-metal for Lemon 3 and it flaunts a 5-inch Full HD 1080P display against the 720P display of Redmi 3 which gives an upper hand to Lenovo’s new smartphone.
Lemon 3 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset clocking 1.5 GHz coupled with 2GB RAM. You will get 16GB of onboard storage on this phone.
This smartphone comes with dual audio speakers fired by Dolby Atmos which has been part of Lenovo’s arsenal for long.
As for the optics, a 13MP shooter is mounted on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP front shooter up front. Lemon 3 comes with 4G LTE enabled and supports dual sim connectivity. Other connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro USB.
Lemon 3 comes with a 2750mAh battery under the hood which is rather tiny compared to Redmi 3’s 4100mAh battery.
Both the smartphones sport a metallic build and same 5-inch displays but Lemon 3 gets the edge with Full HD display. On the other hand, the Redmi 3 wins in the battery department with a bigger 4100mAh battery.
Lemon 3 is a worthy rival to Redmi 3 carrying the same price tag. If battery is not much a concern to you then Lemon 3 is the ideal smartphone right now.
