It looks like we finally have a few details on Gionee’s upcoming and first flagship smartphone for 2016 as a listing for the Gionee (GN9011) Elife S8 was found on the GFXBench database.
According to the listing, the GIONEE Elife S8 looks to be a new flagship that features a 1.9GHz MediaTek MT6755 octa-core processor, a Mali-T860 graphics chip, a whopping 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It is also said to be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Unusually, the listing claims that the Elife S8 features a smaller 4.6-inch full HD 1080p display which is relatively small when compared to the other flagships in the market. There’s a chance the listing could be mistaken about the screen size and resolution of the Elife S8, which is not uncommon, so we’ll just have to wait for the official launch of the device to confirm it.
Gionee has already previously announced that they’re planning to launch a smartphone at the 2016 Mobile World Congress which starts later this week. Additionally, Gionee also launched the Elife S7 at the same event last year.
