Weimei and Gionee Collaborate on the WePlus Flagship Smartphone

The 2016 Mobile World Congress is only a few days away and many manufacturers are set to unveil many of their products and technologies at the event. But every year there are companies that decide to announce their new products outside and away from the annual conference, companies like Weimei who has just announced a new flagship smartphone they’ve designed in collaboration with Gionee, one of China’s biggest smartphone manufacturers.

weimei-gionee-weplus-announced-01The new smartphone, called the WePlus, features a full metal unibody that’s composed of 89% aluminum, a 5.5-inch 720p HD Super AMOLED fisplay, a screen-to-body ratio of 77.8%, an unknown octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. The WePlus is also equipped with a USB Type-C connector, a 3150mAh battery, and a microSD card slot that supposed up to 128GB cards. Weimei has also included the latest version of its WeOS with the WePlus.

According to Weimei, the WePlus will be available sometime this month in two color options – grey and silver. The company did not disclose how much the new smartphone would be priced though so we’ll have to wait for it to start showing up on online stores to find out how much it costs.
