It seems that this year’s April will be a busy one for smartphone manufacturers and for tech fans around the world. Huawei, CREO, Meizu and HTC have all planned an event in April, to announce their flagships and other devices, following those of Samsung, LG and Xiaomi. That being said, we have new info on the upcoming Huawei P9 which is rumored to carry Leica technology driving its dual camera setup.
Back in February, Huawei and Leica had announced a partnership firing up rumors about Leica technology coming to Huawei devices, with the first in line being the all new Huawei flagship, the P9. Well, doubt no more. Huawei’s vice president Guo Ping recently confirmed that rumor during a press conference in Huawei’s Shenzen headquarters: “We are going to launch our P9 flagship phone very soon and this is a product that we worked with Leica to produce. We need to work with the strongest partners in this area to provide the best product” were his exact words. In addition to this, Twitter user @stagueve, posted a photo showing the back of what he claims to be the Huawei P9, and it shows the dual-lense setup with Leica branding along with the fingerprint sensor. Of course, the device is made of metal (as its predecessor, P8).
The Huawei P9 is expected to sport a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB / 4GB of RAM, and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage, Kirin 955 octa-core SoC (950 is also a probability), it will ship with Android Marshmallow skinned with Huawei’s EMUI. Of course, we expect the siblings of the flagship, P9 Max and P9 Lite to make their appearance as well. All our queries will find their answer at the event Huawei has for us on April 6. Stay tuned!
