Huawei has a press conference lined up on September 1 just a day before IFA 2016 commences in Berlin. Previously, reports emerged that suggested that Huawei is going to launch Mate 9 on September 1 and the details of the device surfaced on benchmark database, GFXbench. But later on, it was revealed that it could be Huawei S2 and not Mate 9. Now, TENNA has revealed images of a new smartphone that could be the upcoming Huawei Mate S2.
As you can see in the images above, the device bears a striking similarity to Nexus 6P which was launched last year. The fingerprint sensor placement and the overall design of both smartphones are almost similar. Unfortunately, TENAA didn’t reveal the specs of the device yet.
If we consider the specifications that surfaced on GFXbench, then Mate S2 will be running on latest version of Android i.e. 7.0 Nougat and will be flaunting a 5.9-inch 1080p display. It will be powered by a Kirin 960 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.6GHz accompanied by Mali T880 GPU. 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage will be part of the hardware.
In addition to that, a 16MP rear camera is mentioned to be the part of the arsenal but the earlier GFXbench listing showed a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Reports suggest that Huawei Mate S2 will be priced somewhere around 3500 Yuan ($528), i.e. after considering the pricing of the Mate S handset last year.
TENNA has been the source of revealing the features of smartphones before they are officially announced. Since there is some cloud of confusion over some specs of this smartphone, we expect more details to emerge clearing things up. Stay tuned.
