The Huawei Mate 9 is the first phone to feature the new chip and it has been benchmarked on Antutu to see how it performs.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-107450" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Mate-9-Antutu.jpg?x10805" alt="mate-9-antutu" width="600" height="296" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Mate-9-Antutu.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Mate-9-Antutu-300x148.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">After running it on Antutu, the Mate 9 scored a total of 132,289 points on the benchmarking app. The score is lower than that of Snadragon 821 devices which have managed to pull in more than 160,000 points. Where the Kirin 960 fails is in GPU tests as it pales behind the Adreno 530 of the Snapdragon 821 found in the LeEco Le Pro 3.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-107449" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Le-Pro-3-Antutu.jpg?x10805" alt="le-pro-3-antutu" width="600" height="1066" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Le-Pro-3-Antutu.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Le-Pro-3-Antutu-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Le-Pro-3-Antutu-576x1024.jpg 576w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Kirin 960 is built using TSMC&#8217;s 16nm FinFET process. It features four cortex-A73 cores and four cortex-A53 cores. The GPU is a Mali G71 which is still not as powerful as Qualcomm&#8217;s Adreno but still offers significant improvement over previous models.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The Kirin 960 is expected to be the chip that will be used in Huawei&#8217;s P10 scheduled to launch next year. If that will be a good idea is left for Huawei to decide as Qualcomm&#8217;s latest SD 830 processor will start appearing in devices at about the same time as the P10 launch or even earlier.</p>
