We are walking towards a future when electronic devices will be controlled by AI. Siri, Google Assistant and Cortana are some examples of what to expect in the future. With the help of these assistants, products like Amazon Echo and Google Home make your life easier with a word from your mouth. The device that attracted our attention lately is Vinci. A Smart Headset with AI support that began as a Kickstarter Project.
So, what is Vinci? First of all, it is a headset. The difference from other headphones is that it can be used as a standalone device as well. In fact, they work better alone than paired to a smartphone. As stated by the company behind the project, “Vinci believes in a future where your headphones are the central hub of your connected world. Over the last two years we’ve been testing and perfecting a smart, wireless headphone that is controlled by your voice and powered by cloud technology, with no connection needed to your mobile phone“.
Vinci allows you to voice control your music when manually choosing songs on your phone is inconvenient. No matter what you’re doing – walking, running, or commuting – you can tell Vinci exactly what song or artist you want to listen to, say a specific genre or mood, or let Vinci pick a song for you. To do that, you can choose between your song collection that you can store on the headphones or choose from Spotify, Amazon Prime Music, or SoundCloud. In addition, Vinci includes an accelerometer, gyrometer, proximity sensor, optical heart rate sensor, GPS, and compass to deliver impressive personalization.
Swipe up/down to adjust volume or swipe forward/backward to easily change tracks. It automatically stops playback when it detects that you havve taken the headphones off. It is powered by Vinci Voice OS, based on Android and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. What’s more, its battery life is amazing. You can listen to 50 hours of music when Vinci is connected to your smartphone or 10 hours when it is operated as a standalone player.
