Chuwi LapBook 14.1″ will be launched soon

by Dimitris Economou 7

Chuwi recently released its first laptop after years of tablet development, the Chuwi LapBook. That first laptop featured a rich 15.6″ FHD display, unlike most manufacturers that go with smaller displays. Today, we learn that the company will soon release a smaller iteration of the Lapbook, the Chuwi LapBook 14.1.

As you can easily judge by its name, this model will feature a smaller, 14.1″ display to please those who want greater mobility. The design of the device is almost identical, although we can’t tell if the asymmetrical left/right bezel is present here as well. The rest of its key features are the following.

    WTF is APOLLO lake ?!

    NO GAMING CPU !?

    • Chuwi comes from a tablet background. They just put their mobile based platforms in a more notebook like style product. But maybe finally Windows runs ok on this, before I prefered Android/RemixOS on tabletdocknetbook-style devices with specs close to this for handling/performance reasons.

why are they not using AMD APU they are much better at handling the games their excavator core based APUs were good not great but ideal for Ultrabooks…. their APU included 320 or more Shader processor for gaming

      • Dimitris

True. But then, battery life would be almost half what it is now. AMD APUs are fine, but their power consumption is far behind Intel’s solutions.

At last we have left the Atom X5-Z8300 world! Hurray to Chuwi (and Voyo) for introducing the new Apollo Lake Pentium N4200 and Celeron N3450 CPU!
2017 will be a great year for laptops and mini PCs (NUC) at affordable prices 🙂
