Nokia announced last year that they would be returning to smartphone and tablet manufacturing this year and an entry-level smartphone, rumored to be called the E1 according to leaks, looks to be one of the devices the company plans to launch this year. And today, the specifications of the upcoming device have been leaked online.
According to the leak, the Nokia E1 will feature a 1.4GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with an Adreno 308 GPU, 2GB of RAM, a 5.2 or 5.3-inch 720p resolution display, 16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and will run on Android Nougat 7.0.
Before this latest leak, images and sketches of the device were leaked giving us an idea of what the new smartphone could look like. It’s also been previously rumored that the Nokia E1 will be priced at around $150.
It is rumored that Nokia plans to officially unveil the E1 along with other new devices at the annual Mobile World Congress in February including the mid-range Nokia D1. The company has previously confirmed that they’re working on both Android smartphones and tablets and plan to release up to seven devices this year under their new partner, Finnish company HMD Global.
