Over the past two years, ASUS has slowly risen to be one of the most competitive smartphone manufacturers in the market with the massive success of its ZenFone 2 and ZenFone 3 line of smartphones. And this year, the company plans to grow even more as it expects to ship 35-40 million smartphone units this year, doubling its almost 20 million shipments last year.
The company just unveiled the ZenFone AR and ZenFone 3 Zoom at CES 2017 and plans to launch its new generation of smartphones, the ZenFone 4 series, sometime in the second quarter of 2017. All of which will definitely contribute to ASUS reaching their goal of 40 million shipments aside from their already released and successful ZenFone 3 series.
Currently, there are eight variants in the company’s ZenFone 3 family including two variants of the standard ZenFone 3, the high-end Zenfone 3 Deluxe, the large-displayed ZenFone 3 Ultra, the budget ZenFone 3 Laser, the battery-oriented ZenFone 3 Max, and the recently released dual-camera wielding ZenFone 3 Zoom.
ASUS also released the ZenFone Pegasus 3 in China last year in an effort to strengthen the Taiwanese company’s presence in the Chinese market, ostensibly one of the biggest smartphone markets in the world.
