In the previous months we got information about a dual camera device coming from Elephone. The Elephone Max that later was renamed to C1 Max, isn’t going to be the first Elephone dual camera smartphone after all. Newer information refer to a new device, the Elephone Play X will be an addition to elePhone family soon and it will feature two cameras on the back.
As we have mentioned before, there are two dual camera implementations right now. One is followed by Apple with two lenses of different focal length that allow for optical zoom. The other is what Huawei uses on its P9 models, with one colour and one B&W sensor. On the Play X, there are two 12MP cameras. Mono and color cameras, delivering photos that can potentially have better colour accuracy and low light performance.
The color camera captures the colors while the mono camera is for the shadow details. With two cameras working as one, the final result can be so true and clear and photos will appear with both rich color and mono photo’s purity. This requires a lot of effort on the software side, something we hope Elephone has succeeded. Your photos can be more detailed and vibrant than ever before. No further information is yet known. Below, you can see photo samples originally taken with Elephone Play X.
