The OnePlus 3T and the Huawei Mate 9 Pro are two of the fastest smartphones in the market today. Both feature 6GB of RAM and run Android 7.0 Nougat. The big difference between the two lies in their processor, the former features a Snapdragon 821 while the latter carries the Kirin 960. So the folks at PhoneBuff have decided to pit both devices against each other to see which is faster.
In the test, multiple apps are opened on both devices in the same order. Each app is launched, loaded, started, then the next app is launched. The launched apps include the Camera app, social media apps, games, streaming platforms, as well as photo and video editors. The first lap of the test had each of the apps launched while the second lap had each of the apps re-launched with all of them already open.
In the first lap of the test, the OnePlus 3T started out strong but the Mate 9 Pro was eventually able to catch up, overtake the 3T, and finish the lap three seconds ahead. But in the second lap, the Mate 9 Pro was unable to keep the Fit the Fat mobile game open which means the 3T was able to zoom past the Mate 9 Pro and finish the lap around 10 seconds ahead.
The results go to show that while the Mate 9 Pro was a bit faster than the 3T, the latter was able to handle more simultaneous apps. Regardless, both devices are impressively fast and neither will disappoint.
