Elephone is hopping to change the way that smartphones are produced and funded. To achieve that, the company has organized its first crowdfunding campaign, not on an already established platform like Kickstarter of Indiegogo but on its own website.
A bold move by a company that is far from the top financial giants in China. But that proves the courage they have to play their part in taking the industry forward. The first attempt of the project is the Elephone Z1 that in previous articles we learned about the specs it will feature. Those include a Helio P20 SoC with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Also, the 5.5″ display will cover most of the front panel with 82% coverage. Lastly, battery capacity is the market’s average with 3100mAh. Although the project is still a WIP (Work In Progress), Elephone gave today a short video with showing the device’s impressive back cover.
