BrandZ has just released its Top 100 Most Valuable Chinese Brands for the fiscal year of 2017 and Huawei has placed sixth in the list under non-smartphone brands like Tencent, Alibaba, China Mobile, ICBC, and Baidu, ostensibly ranking it as the most valuable smartphone brand in China.
Huawei’s brand value grew to over $20 billion in the past year, a 10% growth that helped it climb seven spots from its 13th place last year to sixth place this year. Additionally, Huawei also won the award for the Fastest Growing Global Brand Builder. The company secured 58% of its past year’s revenue from overseas.
As for other Chinese smartphone brands, Lenovo found itself in the position of 2nd most valuable Chinese smartphone brand with a value of over $3 billion in spite of its 13% drop in value over the past year. OPPO was notably mentioned as being the most successful brand at increasing millennial loyalty. The company raised its value by 157% since 2014.
