Chuwi is taking big steps forward with every LapBook model that is releasing. The latest Chuwi LapBook Air features manufacturing quality and design to levels that are present in much more expensive models. So, the time has come for its official Global presale period to begin and Chuwi chose the largest online retailer of China to do the job: Gearbest. The promotion is already running on the dedicated Chuwi page where you can find the device for just $399.99 until the end of the month. Also, there are additional offers for other Chuwi tablets that are daily available for 50% off at 10:00 UTC until the 16th of October and you can pay only $0.99 for add-ons.
CHUWI LapBook Air has taken design cues from MacBook and it is even thinner as surrounded by a relatively slimline bezel that contributes only a few millimeters to the device’s overall thickness. And at just under three pounds, it’s a very portable system. The IPS display sports a 1920×1080 resolution and features thin bezels with a max brightness of 320 nits. The screen is fully laminated to deliver detailed and vibrant images, and pure black showcases itself when the screen is off.
Packed inside the LapBook Air’s 14.1″ frame is an Intel Celeron N3450 quad-core CPU that’s paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of eMMc 5.1 storage and can even be expanded through the M.2 slot if needed. Gone are the USB type-C port in SurBook in exchange for 2 full-size USB 3.0 ports. Also, there is a direct charger, TF card slot, HDMI port and headphone jack present.
It’s a clear and simple design. In addition to this, a silver metal housing looks of high-quality. The design is chic, the edges are nicely honed, features that are found on more expensive machines. If you are keen on typing at night, then you may find it helpful knowing the keyboard is backlit and so is the logo. Lastly, dual-mic, as well as stereo speakers, complete the package.
