Huawei has just unveiled the Mate 10 family of smartphones and one of the notable features of the new devices is the new EMUI 8.0 interface that’s based on Android Oreo, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. Now, the company has confirmed that EMUI 8.0 will also be making its way to some of the company’s other smartphones including the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro as well as the P10 and the P10 Plus.
According to the company, the EMUI 8.0 update will begin to roll out to the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro “three to four weeks” after the launch of the Mate 10 while the P10 and P10 Plus will get their updates “in the near future.”
Huawei has mentioned that EMUI 8.0 will bring with faster app launching, better power allocation, an overall performance improvement of 12%, new notifications features, security updates, and more. The design of the interface will remain mostly the same as its predecessor though.
The Huawei Mate 10 will be released sometime in late October while the Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Design will be released in November.
