UMIDIGI Introduces the multifunctional Nano-coating that makes S2 Pro water resistant

Earlier this week, UMIDIGI showed an unboxing video of the S2 Pro in which the device survived from flush under running water as well as an underwater soak. Today, they are exposing the manufacturing process that is used to make the device resistant to water, using a multifunctional nano-coating protection technology, which is also applied by Huawei in its devices.

The schematic diagram shows the formation process of the nanometer film: In the vacuum plasma environment, the activated surface of the products and the broken end of the molecular chain of the chemical reagent occurs polymerization, which forms one or multilayers of nano-polymer protection film. The nano-polymer protection film is waterproof, moistureproof, and anti-corrosive. Using this process, even a mobile motherbord could be exposed to water without being harmed. Even if water gets in your phone and it fails to start, you just need a hairdryer to help blow-dry your phone and it will start working as normal again.

UMIDIGI S2 Pro is splash, water, and dust resistant and was tested under controlled laboratory conditions. However, Splash, water, and dust resistance are not permanent conditions and resistance might decrease as a result of normal wear. Do not attempt to charge a wet UMIDIGI S2 Pro.
