Better late than never they say. Yesterday, Vivo announced its plan for Android 8.0 update and the devices that will be getting them. The list is pretty small and only includes the brand’s flagship devices.
The Android 8.0 update will come as an upgraded version of its FunTouch OS custom UI and will begin hitting devices starting mid-April. Below is the list of devices getting the update:
- Vivo X20
- Vivo X20 Plus
- Vivo X9s
- Vivo Xplay6
- Vivo X9
- Vivo X9 Plus
- Vivo X9s Plus
It is surprising that none of the recently released mid-range phones are on the list. While Vivo is known to have a terrible track record when it comes to updates, it still comes as a surprise that nothing is being done to change things.
The eligible phones will get beta versions of Oreo first but there is no time frame for that at the moment. Details about the beta recruitment are expected to be released on the official forum.
