When looking for a smartphone with a hard to break screen, waterproof, and drop-proof, a tri-proof, rugged model is the only way to go. One such device is the newly announced Oukitel WP5000 and is the second tri-proof smartphone for the company after the K10000 MAX. Combining tri-proofing, large battery, full-display and powerful performance, WP5000 is an interesting smartphone to watch.

The WP5000 is IP68 and military-grade certified and to test its abilities against water and tough environment like low temperature, hot weather, field, construction site, and so on, Oukitel threw a WP5000 into the refrigeration for more than 15 hours, soaked it in boiled water for more than 5 minutes and buried it in slurry. The device came out literally untouched, working perfectly. As you can see in the video above, it is very easy to wash off the slurry without any remains left behind.

Besides its durable character, it comes with a 5.7″ tough display with 18:9 aspect ratio to offer larger usable display. It is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P25 octa-core SoC accompanied by 6GB of RAM. Also, it supports microSD card up to 128GB. With 5000mAh battery, we can safely assume that it will go on for 2-3 days of normal use on a single charge.
