iPhone X Plus

Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones this year. One of them is the successor to the iPhone X and may actually be the cheapest of all three.

An analyst at Digitimes, Luke Lin, who has insider information from Apple’s supply chain has a rough idea of what to expect. According to him, the manufacturing bill of materials for the iPhone X’s successor is 10% lesser than the $412.75 of the current model.

Since it will keep the OLED display, work on the reported 5.85-inch LCD version is said to have been suspended since last month and may eventually be cancelled. However, another iPhone that will launch alongside the iPhone X successor will also come with an OLED display, but much bigger at 6.45”. There will also be a 6.1” LCD model.

The 5.85” OLED iPhone may be the cheapest of all three based on the components seen in engineering samples. These components like the RAM are said to be less powerful or of a lower capacity than the 6.1” LCD model.
