Cubot has launched their flagship phone in the first quarter of the year. It is Cubot X18 Plus and is doing pretty good according to market feedback. Now, sources say that another midrange device is coming soon, featuring an 18:9 full-screen aspect ratio, the Cubot Nova.
It is reported that the Cubot Nova will be equipped with MediaTek’s latest processor, MT6739. The biggest highlight of this SoC is its baseband specifications that support dual-4G FDD/TDD-LTE and the highest standard download speed is LTE Cat.4 150Mbps and upload speed LTE Cat.5 50Mbps. Also, it features dual-card, dual-standby, dual-VoLTE, as well as eMBMS, HPUE, 600MHz frequency band, and TAS 2.0 smart antenna system (enhance signal quality when holding the phone).
In addition, the front of the Cubot Nova features a 5.5″ HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The whole size of the device is close to traditional 5″ devices which makes single-handed operation easy and comfortable. Whether watching videos or playing games, it will bring you immersive visual enjoyment. In terms of memory, the Nova will come with 3GB of RAM as well as 16GB of internal storage which will be expandable up to 128GB more via microSD. The RAM amount in conjunction with the Android 8.1 OS will make multitasking a piece of cake.
The rest of the specs include a 13MPrear camera and an 8MP front one. What’s more, there will be a fingerprint sensor place on the back. As for the battery capacity, considering how thin the phone will be, there will be a 2800mAh. Lastly, with Android 8.1, Google seems to have finally solved the fragmentation issues of the platform as updates will come faster.
