Is the Doogee BL9000 worth buying?

The BL Series from Doogee is the “big battery” series with two members already on the market -BL7000 and BL12000- and a third coming soon. We are talking about the Doogee BL9000 that will soon hit the market and will be placed in the middle of its two other siblings. But will it offer something that will be worth spending money on?

Of course, the killer feature will be its big battery. As its name suggests, it will be equipped with a 9000mAh battery and considering the fact that it will come with the somewhat power-efficient Helio P23 SoC, it should offer a great battery performance. On the other hand, it will come with 6GB of RAM that should draw a little more power, but at 9000mAh, it shouldn’t be a problem. In addition, a 5V/2A fast charger will be included for a quick refill. And it will support wireless charging too.

Another important factor when buying a new phone is the display quality and this is where the BL9000 should excel. It will come with a 5.99″ FHD+ LG display that makes some of the best IPS panels in the industry so we expect it to have an above average performance, especially when it comes to sunlight legibility. That’s if Doogee went for a good quality panel since you get what you paid for usually.

As for the optics, Doogee claims that the combination it uses for the front and back cameras will make a difference. The back camera consists of a 12MP Sony IMX486 main sensor with 1.25μm pixel size and a 5MP secondary one. The front one hosts an 8MP sensor with LED flash that Doogee calls “Moonlight” that helps when shooting selfies in low-light environments. As always, no matter how good the sensors used are, the software optimization is what makes the difference, so we’ll have to wait and see how good the results are.

To conclude, it all comes down to how much bang for the buck you get. Since hardware is common among all manufacturers, build quality, software optimization and support combined with pricing is what makes the difference. So we’ll have to wait and see when it hits the market. Learn more on their official website.
