Just a couple of days back we talked about some real photos of the next rugged phone from Ulefone -Armor 5- that had been revealed. And today, the Chinese manufacturer officially announced the new device that is the first rugged smartphone to feature a notch display and will go on presale on August 6th.
The Ulefone Armor 5 is equipped with a display similar to iPhone X’s meaning a 5.85″ with an aspect ratio of 18.9:9 and a notch at the top. The slim bezels allow for up to 91% screen/body ratio and it is covered by Gorilla® Glass 4. As you can see in the photos, the design is modern and compact enough for use with one hand. Besides the fashionable design, it has all the features that make it a real rugged device like the IP68 certification, meaning it can survive in many extreme outdoor environments, like heavy rain, mud, etc. Also, there is an “outdoors” kit of apps that includes a compass, flashlight, level, pic hanging, height meter, magnifier, alarm, and plumb bob.
As for its specs, it comes with an octa-core SoC accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 256GB more via microSD. As you can see, it should be blazing fast for everyday tasks. What’s more, there is a 16MP/5MP rear camera combo as well as a 13MP front one, a big 5000mAh fast-charging battery that should take you through 2 days of normal use, reserve charging, and Qi 10W wireless charging. Lastly, it sports a fingerprint sensor, as well as face unlock, NFC, and Google Pay support with the Android 8.1 that is pre-installed.
