UMIDIGI One Series first hands-on is live, watch the “compact flagships” in action

The UMIDIGI One Series is now official and is marketed as a pair of “compact flagships” by the company. This is mainly due to the fact that it features a full-display design without the top bezel that is replaced by a notch, offering more screen real-estate. Today, the first -short- hands-on video is available to the public.

What is obvious from the beginning is the beautiful design that although it is almost identical to the iPhone X, the Carbon Fiber and Twilight colors make it even more impressive. The Twilight version was made popular by Huawei and now more and more companies choose it as an option. The display is a 5.9″ HD+ one with 19:9 aspect ratio and covers almost 90% of the front panel. The slim bezels result in a total footprint similar to a 5.2″ phone thus UMIDIGI calls them “compact”

The decision to put the fingerprint sensor on the power button makes the phone’s back clear with just the 12MP/5MP camera combo disturbing the eye. Unlike the iPhone X, the Chinese manufacturer retained the 3.5mm audio jack port, a decision that -together with the FM Radio support- will please many users. On the shining aluminum frame, there is a side fingerprinter on the power button.

The rest of the specs are already known and include Helio P23 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage for the Pro version. Also, the Pro features both wired and wireless fast charging, NFC, and VoLTE support in both SIMs simultaneously. Apart from performance specs, the Series features stereo speakers for enhanced multimedia experience with the One Pro sporting dual smart power amplifier creating a stereo sound field.
