Elephone Soldier goes through a mini waterproofing test (video)

Waiting for some real-life durability tests of the upcoming Elephone Soldier, the Chinese manufacturer uploaded a mini waterproofing test on their official Youtube channel to give us a glimpse of what’s to come. There is not much to see in depth here, just a few seconds of the device being washed in a fountain but that’s interesting too. Let’s watch it.

As we’ve informed you on previous news, this is the first attempt for Elephone to take a piece of the rugged smartphone market and it’s not going to be a ride in the park. There are already several well-established manufacturers out there, much more experienced in that field but Elephone is no rookie in the industry in general so we’ll just have to wait and see the result.

Elephone Soldier

Judging by the plain specs, the Elephone Soldier is well-equipped. It comes with a 5.5″ 2K LCD display, Helio X25 deca-core SoC along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, and 5000mAh battery. The main camera has a 21MP Sony sensor while the front one comes with a 16MP Samsung sensor. Also, it supports 5V/2A fast charging, can host 2 SIM cards, and runs on Android 8 Oreo. Of course, it comes with IP68 certification, as any rugged phone that respects itself. Lastly, there is an analog compass as well as an SOS button on the back.

The Elephone Soldier is already on presale on the eFox retailer and is sold for just $179.99 until September 25th. You can grab one here.
