Last week, Vivo launched its sub-brand named iQOO, which is aiming to sell premium flagship smartphones. Debunking the rumors that the company’s first device will be a foldable smartphone, Vivo recently showcased the upcoming IQOO smartphone during a live television broadcast.

In the video, a model was holding the smartphone in her hands. While the phone’s closeup wasn’t shown, it showcased the phone’s sleek design. It was also clearly visible that the device will feature triple camera sensors on the phone’s back panel.

iQOO Flagship Phone Specs Revealed

Now, the company has posted an image on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, confirming the key specifications of the upcoming iQOO flagship smartphone. It confirms that the device will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and greatest — Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor, manufactured using the 7nm process.

Further, the image also reveals that the top-end model of the smartphone will pack 12GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Currently, there are just a couple of devices which pack 12GB RAM. While Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, which packs 12GB RAM is officially announced, Samsung will be launching Galaxy S10 Plus with 12GB RAM tomorrow.

The phone is also confirmed to come with the sixth-generation in-display fingerprint sensor. The company has not revealed what’s new in this sixth-generation technology but it looks like we’ll get to know more about it soon. It could cover most of the bottom part of the display and offer faster authentication and better security. Vivo had announced the fifth-generation in-display fingerprint sensor along with the Vivo NEX Dual smartphone launch in December.

The upcoming iQOO smartphone is also confirmed to come with SuperHDR display but the screen size still remains a mystery. However, we expect it to be in line with other Vivo flagship phones, meaning it could have minimal bezels surrounding the display.

Further, the image also confirms that the smartphone will feature NFC as well as USB Type-C port for connectivity. The device will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. There’s also something called ‘4D Shock’ which seems to be a gaming-related feature. We are also expecting a custom user interface based on Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.
