Redmi has recently launched Redmi Note 7, Note 7 Pro and Redmi 7 smartphones in China. However, the Redmi fans are eagerly waiting for arrival of Snapdragon 855 chipset powered phone. Xiaomi executives have been recently teasing an alleged Redmi phone with pop-up selfie camera. While the rumor mill has been speculating that it could be the highly anticipated Snapdragon 855 SoC powered Redmi flagship phone, fresh speculations claim that it could be a Redmi smartphone powered by the new Snapdragon 730 chipset.
The Samsung Galaxy A80 that comes with a rotating triple camera setup is the world’s first phone to be powered by Qualcomm’s all new 8nm Snapdragon 730 mobile platform. The Galaxy A80 is expected to release in the Chinese markets. It appears that one of its major competitors could be the mysterious Snapdragon 730 driven Redmi phone.
Leaked information reveals that the smartphone will be packed with a 4,000mAh battery. Since it will be an upper mid-range phone, it is very likely to carry support for rapid charging. For photography, the smartphone is likely to sport 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 13-megapixel triple camera setup. It remains to be seen whether the phone will feature the very same triple camera setup that is available on the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE smartphone.
The leaked image that shows the phone placed inside a protective case confirms that it will be featuring a 3.5mm audio jack and a pop-up selfie camera. This indicates that the phone will be equipped with a notch-less display. Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing had recently claimed that the upcoming Redmi phone with Snapdragon 855 SoC does not feature a pop-up selfie camera. Hence, the phone shown in the above image is a different device.
The notch-less Redmi phone with SD730 onboard seems to be very the same phone that was recently revealed by Xiaomi Product Director Wang Teng Thomas. He shared an image that showed the mysterious Redmi phone with Xiaomi Co-founder and President Lin Bin.

It is difficult to speculate the name of the device. It may not be the Redmi Y3/S3 smartphone that will be unveiled in India on April 24 in India. Probably, the new Redmi SD730 fueled phone may go official before the company launches the Redmi SD855 powered smartphone. It is advisable to wait for further leaks to know more about it.
