At a launch event in China, Xiaomi launched six new products, including Xiaomi TV and Xiaomi Mural TV, Mi Weighing Scale, Mi Walking Machine, etc. Along with all these, the company also launched an air conditioner — Xiaomi Floor Standing AC.
As the name itself suggests, the Mi Floor Standing AC comes with a cylindrical design, totally different from the typical split ac that we’ve seen. The company says that it has two cooling capacity, 1100m3/h circulating air volume and is suitable for a room of about 20-32 square meter.
It also supports the swinging motion in all four directions — up and down as well as left and right. The company adds that the AC comes with three-dimensional air supply so that the air can reach the room very quickly at every corner.
The China-based company also says that the ducts and blades in the AC are specially optimized to offer a super quiet experience. It comes with 5100W cooling capacity and 5650W heating capacity. It is rated to offer air supply up to 8 meters long and 2100W ceramic PTC electric auxiliary heat.
Thanks to the built-in IoT chip, the Xiaomi Floor Standing AC also support controlling through the company’s Mi App. Its functions can be automated based on room temperature and humidity.
It comes with a new remote control that is divided into certain sections — screen area, main function area, and auxiliary function area. Different buttons on the remote come with different concave or convex design, making it easier to operate for a blind person.
The Xiaomi Floor Standing AC is priced at 3,499 Yuan in China, which roughly converts to $521. However, for the first sale, the product will be available for 2,999 Yuan, which is roughly about $446. It will be available for reservations from today itself.
