When it comes to the flagship race, HMD Global has been left behind this year. Its Nokia 9 PureView flagship which has 5 rear cameras might take better photos than some of this year’s flagship but it falls short in performance as it uses last year’s Snapdragon 845 processor.

There are reports the Finnish company will launch a 5G smartphone this year which might be the successor to the Nokia 9 PureView. However, new details have surfaced and they reveal there will be two Nokia 5G smartphones this year as well as when they are expected to arrive.

According to the report by Nokia Power User, the info is from the same source that informed them about the Nokia 2.2 which turned out to be accurate.

The source says one of the 5G phones will be the flagship 5G phone powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor while the other is called the value flagship and may come with a Snapdragon 700 series processor. HMD Global’s current value flagship is the Nokia 8.1 which has led to speculations that the second 5G phone may be a successor to the 2018 phone and may be called the Nokia 8.2.

Both phones are expected to launch towards the end of the third quarter, so there is still a lot of waiting to do.

The source didn’t reveal any info about the design of the two phones but we will be surprised if one of them doesn’t have a punch hole display.
