Xiaomi recently pushed a firmware update to the Pocophone F1 which ushered some new features and bug fixes to the cheap flagship. Apparently, some of the PocoF1 models came up with touchscreen issues after the update. Xiaomi is now calling on such affected users to bring their device for testing. This is to ascertain why they have such issues.

The head of Xiaomi’s Pocophone brand Alvin Tse made this known in an announcement on Twitter. He disclosed that the company was looking for models that are currently plagued by issues such as screen freezing, phantom touches, and touch lag in general.

The message reads “Now that 10.3.5.0 stable has been released for POCO F1 and some improvements have been reflected in the build, we are looking to analyze devices that are facing 1) screen freezing 2) ghost touch 3) touch lags. We will need to collect some devices to further test.”

We believe a replacement unit will be issued to the affected owners while Xiaomi teardown their pones for analysis. However, not just everyone is qualified to send in a unit. You’ll first need to send your user ID, contact information, videos and other details. Once the company is convinced that your phone meets the categorization, contact will be made to arrange for retrieval of the phone.

Xiaomi launched the Poco F1 powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset last year to take on budget flagships like the Realme models. The Poco F2 is expected to be launched this year. Thus, it is a good thing that the company is tackling this issue head-on. This will help build fans confidence in the brand.
