After weeks of leaks, Honor announced the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro smartphones in China today. The Honor 9X series promises very high screen space through its notch-less display. The trendy pop-up selfie camera is also available on the Honor 9X and 9X Pro smartphones. These handsets are powered by the 7nm Kirin 810 chipset. The Honor 9X series also come with an attractive starting price of 1,399 Yuan (~$303).The Honor 9X and 9X Pro have been introduced as successors for the Honor 8X and 8X Max smartphones from last year.
Honor 9X Pro and Honor 9X Specifications and Features
The Honor 9X features a glass and metal combination chassis. Its dimensions are 163.1 x 77.2 x 8.8mm and it weighs 206 grams. The X-shaped pattern on the glass back of the phone has an attractive appeal. With no notch onboard, the Honor 9X Pro offers marvelous full screen experience through its 6.59-inch IPS LCD display. It offers 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution. The TUV Rheinland certified display protects users from the detrimental blue rays emitted by the screen.
The Kirin 810 which is the second 7nm chipset from Huawei after the Kirin 980 powers the Honor 9X Pro smartphone with up to 8 GB of RAM. The handset offers a maximum storage of 256 GB (UFS 2.1). For additional storage, the handset comes equipped with a microSD card slot. The SoC is equipped with liquid cooling technology for heat dissipation.
The Honor 9X Pro has a vertically arranged triple camera system on its rear. It includes a 48-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel superwide lens and a 2-megapixel sensor for adding depth effects. The smartphone is blessed with an elevating camera of 16-megapixel for capturing selfie shots. The smartphone is packed with a 4,000mAh battery.
The measurement and weight of the Honor 9X is same as its Pro sibling. It also features full HD+ IPS LCD 6.59-inch notch-less display, Kirin 810 chipset, 4,000mAh battery and 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera. The Honor 9X has a dual camera setup on its rear with 48-megapixel f/1.8 aperture main lens and 2-megapixel depth sensor. It comes with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of native storage.
The Honor 9X and 9X Pro smartphones are packed with usual connectivity features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack. Both smartphones are equipped with side-mounted fingerprint scanner. For photography, Honor has included features like owl algorithm for capturing bright shots in dark, AI Handheld Super Night View 2.0, HDR, AI video stabilization and AI beauty mode for front camera. The EMUI 9.1.1 based Android 9 Pie OS runs on the Honor 9X series. The GPU Turbo 3.0 technology enhances the gaming experience on Honor 9X and 9X Pro smartphones.
Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro Price and Release Date
The Honor 9X and 9X Pro are now available on pre-orders in China. The Honor 9X will hit the market on July 30 whereas the Pro can be purchased from Aug. 9. Here are the pricing of the different variants of the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro smartphones:

Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro have landed in China to take on the other phone such as notch-less display and pop-up selfie camera such as Realme X and Redmi K20 series. The Honor 9X series will be available for purchase starting price from July 25.
