Xiaomi’s flagship conference for the second half of the year has been officially set. The company will announce two new smartphone products, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 5G, and the Mi 9 Pro 5G on September 24. Alongside the new smartphone announcements, Xiaomi will also take the wraps off the MIUI 11 OS and a brand new Mi TV.
It looks like the company will change the naming scheme of the new Mix series. Instead of adopting the Mix 4 name, the new model will be called the Mi Mix 5G. Xiaomi’s official teaser tags these two devices as concept phones, which isn’t surprising given that the Mix series started off as a concept lineup. As confirmed earlier, the Mi 9 Pro 5G will come with the world’s fastest wireless charging technology at 30W. It’s likely that the Mi Mix 5G also features this same tech.

These two 5G flagships will be joined by a new Mi TV model as well. Not much is known about this new TV, but it could be a premium offering with 8K resolution. It makes sense for Xiaomi to announce a premium TV at the event because a couple of days later, OnePlus will announce its premium smart TV in a few select markets.
Finally, Xiaomi’s September 24 flagship conference will also be used to announce the new MIUI 11 OS. The new OS is said to feature an updated design with unified icons and new features such as ‘voice assistant assisted call screenings’ among other additions.
Since the official event date is out, expect more details on these products in the coming days.
