According to a new report from the IDC, the global wearable smart product lineup from Xiaomi has exceeded 100 million units in sales between the period of 2014 to 2019. It is a significant milestone achieved by the company in just 6 years, and is also teasing an upcoming launch.

The IDC report, known analytics, and research firm, showcases the Chinese tech giant’s popularity and success in the wearables industry. Xiaomi is known for offering various IoT products as well, with a notable one being its Mi Band series. The series has been popular not just in China, and may have just been teased in a Weibo post, a Chinese microblogging website, that also celebrated the 100 million unit shipments.

In the online post, the company also mentioned a new product. Although we are not sure what it exactly is but will likely be in the wearables category. According to Xiaomi, 3rd April 2020 is the date where a press conference will announce the new product on a live stream online. It may be the Mi Band 5, which is the latest in the entire series. However, we will have to wait and see what exactly the company has in store for us.

Although its specifications are unknown at the moment, a typical Mi Band arrives with a few useful health tracking features and more. Thus, we can expect more of the same around this time as well, but with improvements around the battery life, and a few new inclusions are also likely.
