Earlier today, OPPO announced the OPPO A55 5G as the first phone with Dimensity 700 chip onboard. MediaTek announced the Dimensity 700 chipset in November 2020 for powering affordable 5G-ready phones. Other smartphone OEMs are also expected to announce D700 powered phones in the coming months. A Chinese tipster has claimed that Realme is working a new phone powered by the D700 chip. It is likely to arrive as the most affordable 5G phone from the brand.

The tipster revealed that the Realme’s upcoming Dimensity 700 powered handset has an LCD screen with a teardrop notch. Its rear shell has a square-shaped camera module. It is expected to offer a long-lasting battery life as it is likely to be fueled by a 5,000mAh battery.

The tipster claimed that the 5G-ready phone would carry a meager price tag. Currently, the Realme V3 priced at 1,099 Yuan (~$170) and Realme Q2i priced at 999 Yuan (~$154) are the cheapest 5G-enabled phones from Realme. Unfortunately, the tipster did not reveal the moniker of Realme’s upcoming Dimensity 700 powered handset. Probably, it could end up as a new Q-series smartphone.
