Amazon edged Samsung to emerge as the overall leading brand in the Global Connected TV Devices Market in Q4 2020 for the first time. The Fire TV stick is one of the brand’s top-selling products that helped it attain the leadership position. Amazon has now launched a new Amazon Fire TV Stick 3rd Gen 2021 along with an updated Alexa Voice Remote in India.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick 3rd Gen (2021) features a similar design to the previous model but the remote comes with more shortcuts for streaming apps along with a guide button. The new Alexa Voice remote features a single shortcut button that gives quick access to Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Amazon Music, and a button to view all the installed apps.
Further, there is a dedicated guide button on the remote that avails users the leverage to view a consolidated channel and program listings from live TV apps. On this new remote, Amazon also replaced the microphone button with a blue Alexa button.
The remote can also be used with the Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen), Fire TV Stick 4K, and Fire TV Stick Lite. Thus, it can be purchased as a standalone product. It equally ships with the Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen)
Talking of the pricing and availability, the Amazon Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen, 2021) equipped with the new Alexa Voice Remote is presently up for pre-order on Amazon India for Rs. 3999 (~$55). The product is expected to go on sale from April 21. If you are interested in only the new Alexa Voice Remote, it will available for just Rs. 1999 (~$27) on Amazon from April 21.
