If you want a 2021 Android flagship phone with a “small screen”, then the 6.2-inch Samsung Galaxy S21 and the 6.2-inch Meizu 18 are your best bet. There is also the newly announced Sony Xperia 5 III which has a 6.1-inch screen, but it is not yet available for purchase. However, a new leak has revealed that another Chinese manufacturer has a small-screen flagship on the way, one whose screen size is even smaller than the two mentioned above.

The source of the info is Digital Chat Station, the reliable Chinese leaker. In a post made on Weibo yesterday, he revealed that the Meizu 18 has a competitor on the way from another Chinese manufacturer. While he didn’t reveal the name of the brand, he did share the specifications of a prototype.

Chinese small-screen flagship

This unknown phone has a 5.9-inch AMOLED screen with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. We know it doesn’t measure up to the QHD+ resolution of the Meizu 18 but you get a 120Hz refresh rate. There is no mention of the design of the screen, so we can’t say if it has a punch hole or if it is flat or curved.

There is a Snapdragon 888 processor powering the device and it is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. He didn’t say how many cameras the phone has but the post revealed that the main rear camera is a 64MP sensor. This phone also has a 4000mAh± battery capacity and supports 65W± fast charging. We expect it to run Android 11 out of the box.

The specs are what we will expect to see in a 2021 flagship but the price and availability are other important factors we need to consider. The Meizu 18 is available for purchase by interested buyers outside China via AliExpress and it starts at $819. You can also grab the Galaxy S21 for a starting price of $799.

The question now is if this new phone will be able to beat them in terms of price.
